Description
I got an idea for a character a few months ago, but never got around to drawing him. But recently I got some inspiration to share my design for him again after getting some more ideas. So here he is - the name I've chosen for him is Edgar Bloodworth - Edgar was chosen from Edgar Allen Poe, and Bloodworth as an awesome surname I looked up that I thought would fit him.

Here's a big description I've composed of my ideas so far.

I based his personality off of a combination of Pops from Regular Show, Thorax from Friendship is Magic and Fred Rogers (two of the kindest characters in fiction and one of the kindest men to have ever lived ), and I based his design a bit like Vincent Price mixed with Gomez Addams from the Addams Family. He makes his living as a kind of horror historian for an old abandoned haunted house that he's taken up residence in, but he's also a caretaker of monsters, mythological creatures and demons that he looks after, believing there's a place for every demon in the world to contribute to society in a constructive way and thinking that there's a potential for good in everyone - but, inspired by my recent interest in the 'Dark Is Not Evil' and 'Light Is Not Good' tropes, his time spent with monsters has led to both people wrongly believing he's got evil intentions and going to extreme lengths to 'expose' him and him also having problems with character judgement (for example, if he came across a monster that has no interest in peace, he'd find it difficult to face that there are irredeemable beings or people out there. )

If he was in a series, it would probably be like a Gravity Falls/Rick and Morty/Addams Family kind of mashup in tone with some horror elements mixed in.

So I drew him here caring for baby wendigo, a mythological creature I haven't drawn before. I'll probably be drawing some other monsters that he could be caring for so he'll appearing in some other pictures with him.
