I haven't had much fortune to own many KOF titles, much less Fatal Fury.
I have KOF: Maximum Impact 2, NeoGeo Battle Colleseum, and SvC Chaos: SNK vs Capcom (also Capcom vs SNK 2)...but mostly anything with K' or Terry or Rock Howard in it (lol).
I also have a rom of Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Samurai Showdown 5: Special (not to mention Samurai Showdown Anthology and SS6: Tenkaichi Kenkakuden).

In so many words? It sucks. It's the same problems SvC Chaos had, but with a SLIGHTLY newer system.
I want SNK to go back to their Garou, Last Blade 2, and Samsho 4 days...so bad.

Problems were essentially this:
Capcom VS SNK (made by Capcom)
Capcom VS SNK 2 (made by Capcom)
Capcom VS SNK 2 EO (made by Capcom
SVC Chaos: SNK vs Capcom (made by SNK)

Inputs, graphics, sound, hitboxes were terribad...
KOF XI and NeoGeo Battle Colleseum essentially ran with those kinds of really bad graphics and hitboxes.
They didn't revise things until KOF XII and KOF XIII...and we're still waiting for their plans for any other games.

I see your point the graphics definitely could have been adjusted. And some characters bother like the "mars people" that seems like one of those characters that seem unnecessary to make the game. But the other ones were very wise choices in my opinion.

You should have an IP address / password at least. Or have it auto-detect wifi.

Turn on your PS3:
System > Internet Settings (Scan for connection).
Make sure your ethernet cable (if you have one) is plugged in.
The rest should be self-explanatory.
If you have Wi-Fi, scan for local network, if the WiFi it detects is anything you recognize, then select that, enter any login passwords you need to and connect. The system will automatically do the rest.

Umm, you might want to make it non-self explanatory 'cause I grew up in the nineties, I played Diablo II and crashed my computer twice.

Step 1. Go to the SYSTEM column and scroll all the way down to NETWORK SETTINGS.
Step 2. Press the X button. Scroll down to "Internet Connection Settings".
Step 3. It will ask you if you want "Easy" or "Custom" Connection Method...choose 'Easy' if you don't know what your doing.
Step 4. If you chose 'Easy' it will take you to an option of "Wired" or "Wireless". If you have "Wired" internet, make sure your Ethernet Cable is plugged in.

Step 5A. It will take you to "WLAN Settings", I usually just pick either "Scan" or "Enter Manually".
Step 6A. Assuming you picked "Scan" the PS3 will scan the area and find all nearby WiFi Hotpoints...then you find the one that is associated with your network (it usually has a WEP Key password).
Step 7A. Assuming you picked the WiFi Network that belongs to YOU...it will name it based on the "SSID" usually the name is defaulted to what it detected so just leave that alone and skip over to the next option.
Step 8A. "WLAN Security Setting"...usually most lines just have a single WEP key and aren't too complicated.
Step 9A. ENTER your WEP key password! If you don't know it, ask your parents or whomever has it who set up your WiFi layout. It's how you connect to the internet in the first place!
Step 10A. The PS3 should confirm your settings and then list all the details of the connection, then just "Press X to Save Settings". It'll take you to "Test Connection" as an option to test how fast it is...after that you're done!

Step 5B. If you chose Wired it will remind you to plug in an "Ethernet Cable" to your nearest Router. Make sure you have one that is long enough.
Step 6B. As with WiFi, I would scan whatever connections are detected on the Ethernet Router, pick the strongest signal.
Step 7B. Again you'll have naming conventions, you can ignore those. Move on to the next step.
Step 8B. Again you have to specify what kind of security setting you've got. Most likely it's just a WEP password...otherwise you might not have any password at all and can skip a few steps.
Step 9B. Enter your WEP password!
Step 10B. Console should confirm your settings then list details, just "Press X to save" then test it.

How to Use Internet/PSN

1. You have to have a PSN account and password, so you'll need to go to the "Playstation Network" column (2nd from the last on right) and scroll up to the "Sign In" button. This is also how you get into Playstation Store. If you don't have an account, go to Playstation Network's website and sign up for one.
2. It'll give you space to fill in your Username/Password, you can save your pass if you want and have it just log in automatically.
1B. If you just want to use the Internet Browser, go to "Network" column, and pick "Internet Browser" or "Internet Search" and start it up.
2B. It'll ask you what network to connect to...just pick the default one you normally connect to and that'll do it. Then you can browse to your heart's content.
