I went to Spirit Sands, Spruce Woods, Manitoba. I haven't been there since I was a kid, and its Manitoba's only desert (it's not technically a desert because it gets twice as much rainfall as a real desert but compared to the rest of Manitoba's flat, prairie, canola field landscape it's a desert, trust me!) When I think of the word blue, I think of sadness. And when I think of Spirit Sands, I think of words like desolate, and relentless wind.
