None of those who live carefree in an ivory tower understand what's going on in this world, or even remotely try (to understand).

Nobody knows better than those who lie hopelessly on the ground, beg on the street during the day and sleep under the bridges at night (—the homeless).
Nobody knows better than those who numb their consciousness by all possible means, do not think clearly, do not function anymore as humans, or are being held in psychiatry (—the mentally ill —the addicts).
Nobody knows better than those who are paying off the constantly growing debts, go to work on an empty stomach, ask for crumbs from the plates of the rich, suffer financial hardship, or sit behind bars (—the poor —the criminals).
Nobody knows better than those who are deeply wounded in their hearts, broken in their will, mentally impaired, losing all of their strength, and giving up their souls …

They use no words and yet, they speak … They can't see straight and yet, they see …
They make no sense and yet, they feel … They've got no wealth and yet, they give …

On the other hand, people use big words yet say nothing, perceive their surroundings yet can't see, have explanations for everything yet don't feel, have something left but won't spare some change.
