nah, photo. I use a digital camera and on a bright day, indoors with the white balance adjusted, you get really faithful pictures
I find scanners completely kill the tonal range of a pic. But then again, if you spent a good bit of money on a really good scanner then I'm sure it'd be better. Sometimes it's tricky to correct the barrel distortion cameras create.

I like his expression. Panda's are interesting, they are biologically carnivores (short intestinal tract that can't really break down vegetable matter) but they eat an exclusively vegetarian diet. Since they can pull so few nutrients out of the bamboo with their carnivorous digestive system, they have to eat constantly to get the calories and nutrition they need. Which means they are also pooping constantly.

not to mention, they are not overly keen on sex and are usually pretty bad parents. Often they will abandon their cub after a few days, sometimes they are actually slightly scared of their cubs and abandon them immediately.
I can't believe they're still alive. It's like they're intentionally doing everything wrong....and yet, here they are.

It's almost like a self-fulfilling belief. If you really really don't believe in natural selection, then maybe it doesn't apply to you. ....although since we showed up, it has started to take affect in the Panda world.
