This was a fun commission where I was asked to revisit the same general pose that I drew in my very first munk picture, but this time with color, and in their CG formsI haven't done a color pic in months really so this was good practice. Also it made me realize I have no idea how to render clothing properly

Okay, now this one Alvin and the chipmunks drawing I could relate to. Its so detailed, I thought that this was a screen shot! Alvin and Simon are drawn the best in this and the background is just amazing! This is the best I've seen really is great job. This is epic! The way Simon's head is tilted is really good and Alvin's left hand is way to good for words. How there are holding hands/paws, is so cute. I love how they both have different fur color. Other than that great great amazing well done fantastic job. Chipmunks rock

Great piece of artwork. everything from lightning to textures is top notch. I'm not giving you in vision 5 stars because to my pov it needed something more dinamic to reach it, but thats just me. I really think if you had more dinamism on this image the rating will increase. originality I dint gave you four, because even while they look like the CGI counterparts there is not anything out of the ordinary happening, perhaps if you have added that they were wearing some christmas cloths and putting gifts at daves tree I would have giving you a five. either way it is a fantastic image. something else that bother me is Simos sweater because it seems like it needed better shading and lighting . looks flat in comparison to his body. Alvins sweater is just amazing. also their feet needed more texture . it seems like they have no fur there where if you added a couple of hours of work you could easily have fix that detail there.
technique I'm giving you a 4.5 due to mainly those little details that I mentioned above. I have to give you a thumbs up on it anyway since you are the first one I know who actually finish one of this paintings all the way.
Regarding impact I was glued to the screen for quite sometime just thinking what to say and what not to say. it is not just an image from the chipmunks , this one is a masterpiece . A work of art that people will talk about in years to come. thanks for sharing it to us!

There is no denying that your work is ultra amazing. Well all know this. The sheer skill and professionalism is amazing. When I first saw the thumbnail of the pic , I thought to myself
β oh boo someone just posted a screenshot from the movie againβ
and then I clicked on it and was like β no..no this is a drawing. Omg! It looks just like the movieβ .
now the time and effort put into this is brilliant and deserves praise. Cause you truly captured their likeness exactly. And that can be a positive and a negative.
The positive aspect is the fact that its lovely and you have proven to be able to capture not only there likeness from the movie, but the coloring skills and rendering is phenomenal.
Now the negative is I would say that it does look in fact too much like the movie. There is nothing in this image that sets it apart from the movie. Whatβs the difference from this and just using a screen shot in my opinion when it comes to enjoying the image? There was nothing added to it. And while I understand this is a commission for someone , I still would of loved to see your designs for the chipmunks colored like this.
I love the creative redesigns artist come up with in terms of already established characters. Thatβs what makes fan art in my opinion so unique, beautiful and interesting.
So overall your skill and technique is amazing but in my opinion the creativity kind of took a backseat in the design and the pose.
Over all this is A brilliant and beautiful piece that expresses amazing skill

no dont say that! You CAN get better! You just gotta stick to drawing and draw all the time. Be consistent in drawing! Also, rad art skills dont come overnight. (Idk if you'll even get this but i just want to let you know you're NOT stupid for getting a tablet, everyone's starts out 'lame' or 'crappy', psh i know i did! You just gotta practice practice practice! DONT GIVE UP!)
