I am a bit confused, was this correct English?

Those are contractions. It literally says the same thing.

It is not technically correct English, most people would prefer the words written without contractions. So, without that little mark in place of a letter. Just for grammatical correctness.
But when spoken in common settings, they are used like little shortcuts.
Let's = Let us and We'll = We will. One word instead of two.
It is usually just a speaking preference.
