Description Tanjayeopteryx
(tan-ee-yop-ter-ix)

Type: Omnivore
Family: Avian
Height: 1.7m (vertical), 0.8m (running)
Weight: 50kg

This lightweight feathered dragon inhabits the lower grasslands of the Philippines. Its diet consists mostly of insects and small animals. Occasionally they steal poultry, eggs and young domesticated animals from the local villages, making them a daily nuicance.
Their sharp teeth and aggressive behavior, especially during mating season, make them difficult to deal with and villagers are generally afraid of them.
Although they have feathers, they cannot fly, it does make them fast runners and extremely far jumpers.
These creatures are most common in the Tanjay grasslands, where they get their name from.

That's awesome! I love the jaws and the wings. The coloring is beautiful, and scary. Definitly not something I'd want to see in my backyard.

beutifull... im a nitpicker, so i would say this is more like a cockatrice-bassilisk, than a dragon. but content over intent man, great job.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dumaguete In reply to apathiogram [2005-01-25 02:36:21 +0000 UTC]

maybe, but i think cockatrices and bassilisk's species distribution might be limited to some parts of the world only, then again, new species are always discovered... im on my way to cataloguing more species in my country...
