Story
It was nice to finally have some events close to home for Aiden. After shipping his horse interstate, accompanied by a few other riders from HPR, he made his way over to the Flament Academy.
The smell of the salty, ocean air and the cool breeze coming off the water made him feel like he was on vacation. The hot Australian sun paired with the stunning beachside backdrop was like something on a postcard. Compared to the humid heat of the Adelaide Hills, this was a welcome change of pace.

Prior to arriving, he had signed up for a class that piqued his interest. Equitation over fences wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but to do it on someone else's horse? That was something that made him buzz with excitement. Aiden wasn't a stranger to riding many a horse in his day, as an ex-jockey, he had ridden plenty. He met with his horse for the day at the facility's barn. He was a gorgeous, tall Sheikabian. He had never had the pleasure of riding one before, but a hot, young horse was something he knew well. He had been told this young stallion had a penchant for food, so he came with a bag of mints and some pieces of apple in hand, determined to win him over. After some bonding, they went out for a quick test ride and became quick friends.

When it came time for the event, he waited at the edge of the arena for his turn. Hershy was impatiently plodding his hooves in the sand, raring to go. He may have thought he had dealing with a young horse like this down, but he was much more energetic and distractable than he was used to. The young stallion was looking around at all the pretty colours and sounds floating around. Aiden patted gently on his neck and ears, shushing him in an attempt to draw his focus. The announcer read out their name and Hershy's ears pricked up in acknowledgement. Aiden walked him into the arena and stood at their starting place, gulping quietly to settle the nerves. Who knows how this was going to turn out.
