Do the teapots not like ur office, they seem to be trying to make a desperate bid for freedom, while the one on the outside is saying "come on hurry up, before they see!!!" lol, its great sweetie, love it!!!!

Yup, definitely!
No more of the background showing through.
Of course now it looks like you have a miniature tea pot collection and hung a full sized one outside a window (you're so good and I'm so jealous!)

Hehe, no, now that I know what you were going for I think it's brilliant! The little one "looking" at the one on the outside is perfect!

ive edited the picture to cull the reflection effect you spotted.

is this any better?

haha thank you

i think the reason its confusing is the colour bouncing on the teapot makes it appear translucent and thus makes it look more like a reflection than a solid object

ill make a note of this for future peices

thanks

haha, i like this series, though its usually harder to spot the teapots!
yeah the one in the window looks a bit dodgy :s more like a reflection as kyp said.
how do you manage to get the noise texture on top of the teapots so perfect, do you apply it to the whole photo or create it over the pots and and blend it?

i think you should sneak a huge teapot into something largescale and make it look natural, like amongst some buildings or something.... be a nice contrast to the small 'uns!

i was actualy considering that for the next shot hahah!

the way i do it is:

Take a photo from a nice angle with plenty of focus fall off.
use a tape measure to work out certain parts of the scene.
Import the image into 3ds max
create certain parts of the scene with the exact dimension and position the camera so that they line up.
These objects are given the photo as a texture and slight reflectivity.
I then put a light in the scene.
I add a free plugin called "defocus" which creates a really realistic blur and Burn effect.
export them to photoshop.
Use the blur tool to make sure that the pots that should be in focus, are in focus.
i dont actualy add any noise, i think the defocus causes the burn to bleed into the shadow causing the noise effect.

I might go out in manchester this weekend and take some photos, where do you think would be a good place?

well ffffffffffuck my ass i didnt know there was so much to it! hmm, places in town, theres plenty of wierd buildings all over the city centre, but i reckon it'd look pretty to ace to get on on a waterfront maybe?

I love it!
Do you do compositing professionally by any chance?
I'm not sure what's up with the reflected one in the window though. Is it refletcting something off camera?

i dont do it professionaly no, but i do something similar

the teapot you are refering to is one outside looking in

perhaps ive not made it obvious enough

Up your arse. Bwahaha. How about the toppings on an ice-cream? Or maybe a silhouette of lots of teapots on one of those giant cranes?
