It has a clear outter shell, but the rest is visible... I think... I dunno.

Let me rephrase that. From what I was able to piece together from the trailer before the monster's image became public knowledge, I at first assumed the following.
1.The Cloverfield creature was an extraterrestrial.
2.Because we never actually saw the monster, but saw loads of destruction caused by what one could assume IS a gigantic monster, I immediately assumed the creature was completely invisible.
3.From what I saw of a person being taken behind a wall by some CDC folks, I assumed that the monster brought with it some kind of incredibly deadly virus that it spread throughout the city.
Those were my assumptions of the Cloverfield creature.

The Cloverfield monster was more intimidating then anything else, puffy at least had some guts to show himself. >_>
