I really dig this. It feels so plausible. The weapon in particular is wonderfully serious and formidable., especially considering the warmachine has locked onto something of interest.

Out of sheer interest, are the black "pads" additional ablative armor, or reactive perhaps?

I'm thinking I've seen the original picture for this in a Halo graphic novel? The Spartan Armor towards the end of the book...maybe
Great work! Love it!

Love the head and the boxy-ness of the piece. I always loved boxes and scifi...

Cool design, but a UTS-15 with a backwards p-mag in it just makes me laugh at the thought. I'm sure this was you just messing around one night with friends, but it's hard to take the piece seriously for a lot of people I imagine.

I'm glad this picture made you laugh. But dude, it's a sci-fi picture. Who cares if the clip is backward or not. If I decided to put the clip like this, so let it be. We are here to play with our imagination. You should try to do so. Believe me it's fun.

You don't need to be passive-aggressive. I said the picture made me laugh, and obviously it's a piece of fiction and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Ok, I'm sorry. I didn't meant to be agressive.

No problem. I'm sure you're up to your neck in snotty anonymous comments every day. No harm no foul.

Telling someone you can't take their hard work serious is just plain disrespectful, especially when you are applying our world to a fictional sci-fi world. Then you call him "passive-aggressive" and try to mitigate your true intention (which is quite obvious) to disparage his work by saying the laugh was for humor. I have no fear of offending you: we are here to encourage the artists, and you were wrong.

" I'm sure you're up to your neck in snotty anonymous comments every day"- I believe you summed up your comment concisely.

I pointed out an error in the piece in question which caught my eye. The way I choose to express this was inappropriate.

A science-fiction setting does not automatically mean that real world parallels do not apply. It is very clear that the piece in question, while science fiction at our current date, takes real world elements of military tech to blend the lines of where the fiction starts. A magazine inserted backwards into a weapon stands out as a strange (I should have assumed purposeful) thing to do that breaks that blend of fiction vs reality.

When you choose to offend someone, it's not a matter of whether you "fear" anything about them. You will not be physically assaulted through your computer monitor because you hurt someone's feelings. Manners are about standards common decency, and if you feel that you do not need them for people you have contempt for, that is your business.

Taking a holier-than-thou stance to call out someone else's negative attitude is just silly.

~The-almighty-rager  the only problem with the fully mechanical troops is them falling in to enemy hands and being engineered to hurt people. as well as the fact that if everybody has mech troops then no one cares about lose in war and wars rage on forever or they turn in to new way to harm people instead of fight robots.

duster132 In reply to Redbearillustration [2013-12-03 17:03:51 +0000 UTC]

You got a good point, BUT history and present days show us that the war had changed. Not every country will have the money to get a mech army. A lot of future conflicts will be like the conflict in Afghanistan or Irak. It's called the asymmetrical war. It means a super power country against a guerilla. US, already use drones and they become more and more autonomous.

Redbearillustration In reply to duster132 [2013-12-03 21:54:54 +0000 UTC]

very good point but the wars wont always be asymmetrical and enemies wont always be technologically inept. it just so happens thats the circumstances now. as tech grows so does the access to it.

Just take a look at the world. The richs countries become more rich and the poor more poor. Our society need the third world to go on. SO besure it will be always that in the future maybe worst. Your talking something which doesn't exist anymore since the second world war. I don't say that war in the future will be always asymetrical but two big powers won't come at war against each other because of the money. They will create tension as they did in the past (cold war) and today too. But because othe money I don't believe you will have a big conflict like WW2 soon. I agree with you that the access to the technology will grow BUT not at the same pace for each country of course. There will always be some country much industrialy developped than an other. or richer than another.

Another point, guerilla proved its efficiency. Who will be enough crazy to try to fight something like a modern army on a good old battlefield ??? Just take a look at the first conflict in Irak.

That's a really good point. The thought of that never crossed my mind, I'll have to consider that next time I think up a machine.

Great artwork, lol the magazine is backwards but it does match the other ones in the magazine pouches. The other ones just have ranger plates on the bottom to assist in reloading.

just a head up, the magazine that is in the rifle is inserted in the rifle backwards and doesn't match the others in his mag pouches

Other than that, this is awesome
