Ah, I have always hoped that Marvel would get the license back to Micronauts in our lifetime and we could do more of Commander Rann and co. I was just reading Twomorrows latest Back Issue, and the detail of Mantlo/Golden's collaboration was so inspiring to read. I didn't much about the genesis of the early issues, and BA reminded me how much I loved it. If only Golden could've done the first issue cover, then he'd have a complete cover/interiors 12-issue run. No disrespect to the late Dave Cockrum, who did a good job, but still, I'm glad we have what we have. And thanks for letting me be a part of this piece!

The Micronauts are so long-overdue a big screen treatment it's simply criminal.

to be fair it would require a licence from Hasbro to use the majority of the characters in the comics if it were to be based off of the Marvel version (i.e Acroyer, Karza, Pharoid, Biotron etc.) which only Marvel owns three characters from the comic (Rann, Β Marionette and Bug). If I recall correctly Marvel has licences with Hasbro to make toys of Marvel characters so you never know, they might!

Micronauts is one of those comics that perfectly represent late 70s / early 80s Marvel– my favorite era!

Can't ever get enough 'Nauts! I hope the licensing eventually clears up so we can see a pretty archive edition! Thanks for this!

I was obsessed with Bill Mantlo's micronauts. still reread it every couple years. It's really great. And it had great art teams kicking off with the incredible Michael Golden run,and later Butch Guice.
Mantlo's Rom is also amazing.I'm rereading it currently.

Yup...the one I always remember was the one with the Wolverine clan...kinda American Indian looking tribesmen. That was a great comic from the "Gigantic Bicycle Sweepstakes Ad At The Top Of The Cover" era.

I loved the comics. I remember as a kid thinking Baron Karza was as evil as it could get. He's still one of my all time favorite villains in comics. Never did really like those big plastic red drill bit lookin things on his back in the toy version...man that sucker was heavy.
