That article was quite the read. It was a little too artfully worded for me to really get what the author was trying to say. What I got from the article and videos is that Japanese use special techniques (which for some reason they keep to themselves) to make all the wonder fluid and vibrant animations we all like to call "anime".
As for the last link. Yes, I already knew about the situation of animators in Japan. I actually donated to that project.

yeah it was confusing for me too but as i watch some clips of Sakuga i slowly but surely started to understand~
