Description
The leader of the 52nd Platoon, Garsend is an upstanding soldier whose nature is as noble as his birthright. He hails from a long line of knights and carries himself with the devotion and kind-heartedness one expects of a hero. He has an innate interest in magic machinery; in fact, his sword and shield are his own design, and help him channel fire magic in sword fighting.
Despite his lineage and rank, Garsend doesn’t like arrogance and prefers leading his platoon with a nurturing hand. This method often backfires on him since his platoon is made up of new recruits who can’t resist pranking him on the regular. Thankfully it’s hard to make him mad, and he knows his soldiers are loyal when situations call for it.
Once his service is over, he hopes to marry and settle down… But he keeps falling for married men so he doesn’t see it happening anytime soon.
Another character I’ve been hoping to redraw for a while! I originally set out to make Gar my quintessential fantasy hero, but I felt like his old design didn’t quite express that well. The foundation was there, but I’m glad I sat down with his design again and accentuated some things! I really wanted him to look like the perfect blend of a knight and an aviator.

Garsend is looking handsome and heroic as ever!! Mixing an aviator aesthetic with a knight aesthetic is such a bold move and it works really well for him and makes his design pop. And that pose- it almost looks as though he showed up to save somebody from dire consequences like a true knight in shining armour.

I love this guy's design and I also can't help but notice this guy is holding his weapons southpaw style. I'm left-handed myself so this is rather awesome to see.

I know Garsend's was a little tougher to come by but I feel like every little bit of frustration you had ended up paying off perfectly. I'm so impressed and proud and selfishly am delighted that all my favorite things about his original design made it into the redesign!!!! <3

It was tough but I don't regret it at all-- I LOVE how he turned out and your feedback helped a lot!! It was just so nice to see someone so passionate about his design, it helped reignite some of mine.

Hey, odd question, but what are the slots up top for? They seem too small to thrust the sword through, and large enough where a lucky arrow or crossbow bolt might find it's way in? The scabbard in the shield is super cool though. I imagine it could even double as shock absorption for heavy impacts if the sword is drawn.

certainly an interesting mix of ideas and themes, almost seems like too many really, but the design is wonderful at conveying all of these, though i think fire magic should be represented by more then red clothing. I like the small touches like the sheath and strap in the shield, or the green shirt under his outfit

The red uniform is more of an army thing than for fire HAHA, I can see why it comes across that way though

oh well that makes sense, the greens pretty distinctive so that's good for his theme, but since the red doesn't mean he's a fire mage, what is the indicator? Yeah it makes me realize how much more i can put in my characters look, so thank you
