Very...poignant, the simplicity also adds to the mood. But I bet the guys on the other planet are just relieved it wasn't them that got...landed on by a meteorite.

the stars are a little too uniform, but you did a good job on the lighting

Hah, yeah, it was my second space piece.. and I had little efforts towards my star fields back then. Thanks though!

no problem =] it's not too huge of an issue really.

i meant to ask earlier; do you hand paint your nebulae, or do you use pictures of clouds? =o

I paint, but I'll sometimes use reference pictures of clouds.. like with Garden of Eden, I used a couple of reference pictures of clouds. But with both the Beautiful Damnation pieces, I just hand painted with no references. It just hard for my to do large scale hand painted pieces, because all I have is a trackball mouse.. So it's incredibly hard painting with just your thumb

i agree =/ i was going to get a tablet a few months ago, but i'm debating how badly i want a iPhone instead lol. i don't do very much painting myself as i tend to find it difficult when i'm working with a huge file. you have to zoom in so far to get anything done, and then when you zoom out, you realize what you thought was huge is really only less that two inches tall ._.

Wow, very nice... You asked for advanced critique, but all I can say is that the shadow on the closer planet is pointed slightly in the wrong direction...

Really nice lightning in the picture. I'm wondering, how did you do that sun, cause I've been trying and trying to make a sun for ages now with failure.

Thanks! And the sun I did is really quite simple. I just messed around with the soft brush with some hue and sat adjustments, then next thing I knew, I had a believable sun

I like it. I do spacescapes too, but mine are usually busier, with nebulae and other extras...

Right.. I will get to all that stuff, but a friend told me when i started, not to start with too much. And with this being my 2nd, I tried not to add too much

I agree with the above comment but really if this is your second, you're on the right track anyway.

not bad especially for a second. the angle of that meteor thing is a bit odd, though. work on more detailed planets, too id say

Thanks man ^_^

Yeah, I've been wanting to change the angle of the impact now lol.

And I try to make good planet textures, but it doesn't work out too good for me lol
