Description Basicly a black and white conversion of fav.me/d5pyo28 .

B & W works like a charm for architectural photography so it was a must to convert it. I hope that you like this version too.

Thank you and happy new year!

crazy good, what filters did you use? and how did you edit?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dynamick In reply to spacepig3000 [2013-01-03 10:44:11 +0000 UTC]

I only used B+W 77mm ND 3.0 filter which is known to be 10 stop nd filter.
For this b+w version I went through a very natural looking hdr process using 3 exposures from single raw file just to reveal more texture in the shadowy areas. I then converted it to B+W using ps cs6 and few more tweaks on ps to sharpen it and balance the contrast. Full size image which is 36Mpx is extremly sharp, when I zoom in I can see so much detail even on Tower Bridge.

Wow... this image is absolutely amazing. There are times when a long shutter speed works perfectly as part of the composition of a photo, and I'd say this is definitely one of those times.

Thank you. Totally agree.
Recipe is:
bit of clouds
bit of sunshine
tiny bit of drizzling won't hurt
plenty of wind
= tadaa

Exactly! That was the main plan for the composition and I am glad it worked! Thank you!

The b/w version catches your eye quicker than the colour version, very nice one!!

dynamick In reply to TLO-Photography [2013-01-01 11:11:13 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I agree as b&w suits architecture much better. This shot also has quite a bit of post-processing which also revealed extra texture. Every detail counts.
