I'm not too sure Chris , I was just passing by the place. Perhaps they serves North Indian or Arabic cuisine. I shall have to find out next time I'm there. ^^

It reminds me of a Turkish restaurant in Brisbane. I didn't eat there either. I'm wary of unfamiliar cuisine after trying some innocent looking shrimp curry once.

The chili here is not to be underestimated even if you take it with rice, but I love it due to the crispiness and the tender chicken meat.
From what I saw on how they prepare the chicken, is that before they place it on your plate, they took out this big iron hammer and proceed to smashed the chicken, almost trying to flatten the poor thing out XD
I'm being serious here, no joke mate
Of course you could adjust how spicy you want it to be, if you're the one preparing the dish

It was definitely that hot. It was the kind of hot that sneaks up haha. I didn't know at the time about eating eating rice to cool things down. I was trying to drink tea and that didn't help so much.
Thanks for the recipes. I'm not much of a chef myself but I will pass them on to mum. She's always open to trying new foods. I believe you about the chicken. I've seen that down with beef and lamb but not chicken. I would definitely adjust the spice level down at first,

I always add in more rice to cool it down or drinking cool plain water.
Yeah should pass it to your mom, I think she can make a great dish out of it for you.
And if you're in Indonesia, just know that they love their food extra spicy to the point you don't really taste anything except the spiciness. But that could be only me^^ So take a just a little to test the taste and not a spoonful
