I love that DC is reintroducing classic classic badguys from the Silver Age in the new52 and giving them a modern look.  The Wrath's new Space Marine costume is very cool; but honest, I hate the color.  Why brown of all things?  It's such a dab dull color.  I get the Talons being brown since a lot of owls are that color but it just makes the Wrath less epic in my opinion.

The original Wrath was actually brown. The new one was not supposed to be all brown it was supposed to be a warm black with brown accents to pay homage to the original character. In the issue I colored wrath is never seen out side of a warm light so the colorist that followed me assumed he has a brown out fit.

Oh jeez, that's terrible to hear but understandable.  Brown is such a tough primary color to pull off in the colorful world of costume characters and only a few characters pull it off well.  The few I can think of (The Talons, X-Men's Sabertooth) are all primal characters with an almost animalistic quality to them.  I was wondering why that was the Wrath's only color as it made him stand out less.  Thank you for telling me.

You do good work.  I follow Detective Comics and I love that despite the dark night atmosphere it usually has, bright colors are still used.  It really makes the comic much more enjoyable.  It takes real skill to make the darkness not look muddy and you pull it off wonderfully.  Great job.

This is Great.
better than the alternate. I don't mean that the alternate is bad.

Your colors are just fit and perfect.
The freezing cold blue on bat man side.
The orange on Wrath's side gave me a 3rd degree burn ( although you intensified that in the alternate)
are just PERFECT.

at the end I would like to say I would love to see

Wrath's side from the alternate
+
Batman's side here

this is what I have in mind.

Thank you. The idea for both covers is Complementary colors. Complementary colors are on opposite sides of the color wheel (red and green  , orange and blue). Which is what Batman and Wrath are. At least the way I saw it is Batman is cool an calculating and Wrath is a hot headed brute who wouldn't hesitate to kill his own to get what he wants. Complementary colors work together when set side by side, they tend to vibrate. which is what you want for a cover especially if you are looking at it from far on a comic stand.

I see your point clearly now.
interesting how you look at it.

you amused me with your reply I gotta say. It turned out I'm missing something in art.
can you tell me a way to improve my color selection method (websites, videos ... etc.). < [ if you can't it's okay ]
because I got your point and it is a really interesting  technique.
keep up the good work.
is their any upcoming collabs with Randolph?

JNcomix In reply to Kulter [2013-05-24 13:47:19 +0000 UTC]

The other guy is "The Player on the Other Side". He is essentially the Anti-Batman. He originally appeared in a Batman comic back in 1984 (see here: [link] )

This must be the new "52" relaunch version.

Wrath ! Yes, I remember him and his sidekick, cheers for the link. I saw the design on DC's website, looking cool.
