NO DON’T GO ANYWHERE WITH HER.
For ’s fanart contest. I wanted to do something wintry to compliment the season and ended up brainstorming a yuki-onna spin on the ghost girl. Although I didn’t end up incorporating a lot of yuki-onna looking elements in the end (except for the no feet thing). I guess I like the wispy shrouds of the original design too much. But I do imagine this girl would mischievously lead lost travellers to their doom, which is probably why her expression looks more psychotic than I first imagined.
Anyway, this picture had me learning (and re-learning) how to digitally paint, and I found out I could do more than I thought. So I’m pretty happy with the learning process it forced me into, regardless of how the contest turns out.

I can't remember exactly what I said either. I like the shapes and the sense of flow, as well as the colour scheme. I like the subtle background work with the trees. The spare use of yellow really helps to make the illustration pop out as well. And, of course, I'm a sucker for illustrations that have bones and hearts.

What an intriguing palette! I would never have associated those colors with cold and winter, but it really emphasizes the supernaturality of the character. Great job!
