One could describe her parents as a strange pairing. Her mother, Lormm, was a Shadow dragon while her father, Raunon, descended from a long line of red dragons. As a drakeling, Efferus kept to herself and hid her emotions. Efferus was exceptionally witty, often causing trouble with no way to trace the action back to her. Often as she grew up, she suggested small ideas to her two brothers and sister. When they reached the age to leave their parents, she set a deadly trap for her siblings and parents. An argument, spurred by thoughts Efferus had planted, caused the family to turn on themselves. After the massacre, only her brother Izaik survived with his right wing missing. Izaik did not link Efferus with the tragedy and came to her for help. Instead, the dragoness enslaved her loving brother to do her bidding. She forced him to mate with her so that she might make minions out of her children. Thus the first of Deathshade Flight were born. However, her reign did not last long. Only a third of every clutch survived only to slowly die off due to mutations caused by inbreeding. Angry and upset that her plans had failed, she murdered her brother and left their offspring to die off.
