It looks good, can't wait to see it as a whole piece.
2 things though,
* the orange bar on the far left looks odd on that place. If you really want to keep it i suggest moving it to the bottom, right or left.
* In the thing you created there runs a few pixels width line from the top to the bottom It's a black line, and it doesnt look like he should be there. correct me if i'm wrong though.

I really like the bright colors contrasting on the black. Granted its not finished, it still looks familiar.
