Description
This painting was inspired by our weather. For the last couple of days it's been so unbelievably hot that I'm surprised I didn't spontaneously combust .Watercolor and white gel pen.

The stag is well placed as it immediately draws in the viewers attention, I love how dark the antlers are as they help frame the storm inside and really help to make it stand out more. The anatomy for the stag looks correct, and I really like the contrast of colours that you have used here, with the dry grass looking as if it is ready to catch fire any moment, and the stormy blues in the sky that then form that tornado in the centre. The paler space between the grass and the sky, to me it looks almost like smoke or that mirage of that (weird xD) air that you get around a flame, I think this really helps portray heat or drought.
I love the shading and colourations for this piece, with the grass looking as if it is being moved by a wind, however I think some lighter colour, or maybe darker colour around the stag might help to make it stand out more? And a small amount of darker shading on the antlers? Besides that I really love this piece and I'm having trouble thinking of others ways that this could be improved, nice work!

Thank you ! And I think you're right. I wish I had planned this painting a little bit more. My initial idea was to portrait the heat wave where nothing moves and only the sudden gusts of wind break the monotony. So I painted the grasses like they would be moving in a sudden gust of wind, and the stag was portrayed in a way representing the stiffness, the unmoving nature. The webs where an afterthought because it occurred to me that they would help to bring my point home. I wish I would paint the dark clouds on the horizon, maybe a thunderstorm, and that would properly frame both the stag and the cobwebs. You live and learn

I think you portrayed the movement of the grass well, and I agree with the clouds idea, especially if they were really dark I think they would have made a great contrast to frame the scene...why is it the really nice ideas occur after the piece is finished? XD
Haha, yeah that's true, but as it is I still think this is a beautiful piece. To me the cobwebs look like a tornado, am I wrong?

I really enjoy the fisheye look you created here. It almost feels as if the hunter is looking through the scope when encountering this beautiful animal. The wind moving the brush is a nice touch. It feels overall like a standoff between man and beast.

Przy takim celu, nawet osiągnięcie 50% to całkiem spory sukces ;] Poza tym szkice to też jest rozwój artystyczny.
O braku samozaparcia nie musisz mi opowiadać... Znam temat aż za dobrze.

Teraz mam na koncie nieco ponad 40 więc połowę mam raczej jak w banku, ale chciałabym pobić te 80 z roku ostatniego, więc czas najwyższy zabrać się do pracy!
Wiem i dlatego przysięgłam sobie że w sierpniu skończę 3 szkicowniki. Jak na razie idzie nieźle, jestem już prawie w połowie pierwszego ale jak wiesz z samozaparciem bywa różnie

So stunningly beautiful!
I absolutely love this painting and almost everything about it.
You chose really nice colours and the dark blue of the sky compliments the warm brown of the grass and the deer very well. I also like how you used the same tones for deer and grass wich produces a nice harmony.
It is really cool, how the entire background evolves around the deer and compliments its form.
The spider's web above the deer's heat gives the entire painting a fantastical touch, that I really like. The idea is very original, I haven't seen it anywhere before.
You used really nice shading and great contrasts. I am especially impressed by the deer's fur, that is so unusually detailed.
The only thing that I don't like is that the deer has no pupils. Just persenal preference though.
All in all a really amazing painting!

Thank you ! You're so kind. I was afraid that the pupils will make his eyes appear too dark, and in result the viewer's eye won't rest on the deer's face. Maybe it wouldn't be so, but you know watercolor - its so much easier to make something dark than light.
