A guy with a great mind until, in the mid '90s, he was set upon by a gang with scaffold poles. He was so badly beaten up, a fractured scull, in 3 places, 5 ribs, pelvis & leg fractures and left for dead, that after major life-saving surgery he spent 6 months in Intensive Care.I used to have amazing conversations with him about the environment, land use & CC/GW, now, it's lucky to get a sentence out of him that is coherent

It's hard seeing him like this but life goes on. Bob & I have banter every now & then, and he's pleased with my photos of him. He has them up on his living room wall, along with the painting.

Yes, it is. Sometimes I wonder if Bob should have died. His quality of life is nothing like he had before, and most of that he's lost.

I've no idea, as I was in Brighton seeing my daughter & granddaughter when the attack happened.
At the time he was suited & booted as they say, and clean shaven.
The brain damage he suffered has changed him dramatically, and I really miss the old Bob.

The vile individuals that did this to him, I'm going to assume had never been identified or brought to justice for this heinous crime.Β
One can only hope that Karma swings the scales of justice at these things ( there is no sentient life in them) with a heavy blow and they get theirs.
Unfortunately justice is a fickle creature itself and some of the most evil beings on this planet live long luxurious lives never paying for
the crimes they commit. (political, military and business leaders come to mindΒ )Β At least Bob has you to keep an eye on him and give him a reference point and anchor in the fog that must be his life now.
In away he's lucky to have such a friend.
So many " so called friends " distance themselves from things like this that happen to people.
