Description Cardiac arrest patient being airlifted to Yeovil Hospital by the Air Ambulance. The gentleman concerned, came from Huddleston Court, where I live. At the time, I had my cans on listening to Jethro Tull's "Songs From The Wood"
In the background I heard some shouting & screaming, it happens occasionally, rows & fights, so I took no notice. A few minutes later I heard a chopper very close, and it sounded like it had landed in the playing field, just a few yards away across the road. Grabbing my camera I went to the bathroom, it has a great view of the rec. I could see the chopper blades still rotating and then the pitch changed, it was taking off. You see the result.
A couple of days later, chatting to a friend from the main block of flats, she told me what had happened. Thankfully, the old boy is fine, and still smoking like a trooper.

Funny you should mention Jethro Tull, i had a very interesting conversation about music with Ian Anderson when he was on a VIP tour of Expo 86 here in Vancouver. Also Cool HelicopterΒ

Ian's a great guy, a very nice gentleman. Met him a few times, with the band, when I've been lighting, ha a few beers afterwards, and when he came to Bristol recently, with the Carducci String Quartet. "The String Quartets" is a good album, all recorded in churches, one of them being Worcester Cathedral.

I chatted with him while he was on a VIP tour of the British Pavilion at Expo 86, we just got into talking about music and after some time he told me who he was as i did not recognize him, we had a great chat and drank free booze from the British VIP Lounge, it was one of many great moments from the best short term job i ever had.

That's what makes me laugh. Him & his wife, first thing every morning, come outside their house to have a ciggy, coughing & spluttering, his wife is the worst. Some mornings she wakes me up.

They're a great live band Seen them a few times, both in Brighton, where I was lighting, and in London, when I took my daughter to see them, at the Hammersmith Odeon.

There's talk of a major solo tour, with a string quartet, and maybe an orchestra next Autumn.

These "bathroom window" shots work well - especially this one!! Looks a bit like a mechanical magpie!!

The choppers mostly land in the same place which is helpful.
Thanks, Mel
