After the gale we had a week ago, a number of branches were laying on Bishop's Green, outside the Bishop's Palace One in particular, caught my eye. It had the remains of its cones still on the branches.Now those of you who know your trees this should be an easy one, especially if you watch my work. All I'll say is that it is an introduced species to the UK, and, as you can see, it's a conifer.

Larch. I'm not sure if it's European or Japanese larch (I don't know if European larch is native in UK or not, also I didn't see whole cones).
