But just how crispy IS it? Also do you cut these vector or raster? When I used my laser projector to engrave wood, not only did it take forever (4W and visible :C) but I did it raster. This looks likely to be vector though. Very nice.

At least Chris crispy I'd say, if Chris is some unit of measure (of which I'm unaware), that is
I'm still having trouble imagining how you do engravings with a visible laser. Seriously, you need to find me a video or something So cool! But in answer to your question: Actually, both! I convert all raster images into traces, which are technically vector, but the print driver translates any filled shape into some density of dots. The lens assembly moves back and forth like an ink printer until the entire area is engraved, so that artwork is technically "raster" at that time due to being pixel based.
All of the lines, on the other hand, are vector. The lens assembly just traces the path of the strokes in the design. Low intensity for inside lines, and full power for the outside shape.
(The thought occurred to me that I've only worked with one brand of laser cutter, and only been around a local group of people that know how to operate one. It's very possible that the terms we use are not universal. Hopefully I'm close enough!)

Dude, I would totally suggest going to Babscon. I went to Trotcon this past year and it was one of the best things I've ever been too. So many bronies in one area is too much for the mind to comprehend. lol Can't wait until July for the next one. lol And I'm totally sure people would buy those things up if you made them. They're pretty epic.

If you go to Everfree in May we could probably meet up... and I could show you some seriously powerful visible lasers... Maybe ;3

I can guarantee they'd be the most powerful visible lasers you've ever seen! About 15,000mW each in total...Two of them~

Have them? I wish... They have a price tag higher than my house. Help build them? Sure. Borrow them? Sure. Play with them to my hearts content? Absolutely... but I'm nowhere near owning one. To give you an idea.. it's around 60,000 for a completed unit. Here's the price tag for the red laser ALONE
