This piece was created using the usual baltic birch plywood and my traditional black sharpie lines. The slight blemish on the nose is a result of my dropping the piece on the rocks
Whoops!Caramel property of My Little Pony/Hasbro, the artwork belongs to and all the rest (whatever that is!), I guess it belongs to me. So yeah, see those rocks in the image? They're mine. Doughnut steel

But just how crispy IS it? Also do you cut these vector or raster? When I used my laser projector to engrave wood, not only did it take forever (4W and visible :C) but I did it raster. This looks likely to be vector though. Very nice.

I'm still having trouble imagining how you do engravings with a visible laser. Seriously, you need to find me a video or something 
All of the lines, on the other hand, are vector. The lens assembly just traces the path of the strokes in the design. Low intensity for inside lines, and full power for the outside shape.
(The thought occurred to me that I've only worked with one brand of laser cutter, and only been around a local group of people that know how to operate one. It's very possible that the terms we use are not universal. Hopefully I'm close enough!)

Dude, I would totally suggest going to Babscon. I went to Trotcon this past year and it was one of the best things I've ever been too. So many bronies in one area is too much for the mind to comprehend. lol Can't wait until July for the next one. lol And I'm totally sure people would buy those things up if you made them. They're pretty epic.

Have them? I wish... They have a price tag higher than my house. Help build them? Sure. Borrow them? Sure. Play with them to my hearts content? Absolutely... but I'm nowhere near owning one. To give you an idea.. it's around 60,000 for a completed unit. Here's the price tag for the red laser ALONE

I'd like to call it affiliate. But realistically I'm just great friends with the companies CTO and founder, as well as their lead designer. I've done quite a few shows with their equipment, and have built up a reasonable amount of trust and reliability which has earned me the privileged to use their stuff! You can see the laser fully built here and here powered up projecting some death rays . They're quite the machines.
