Another preview/doodle thingy, this time as a second take on Royalty as they appear in Requiem. Cadence will be in it too, but I'll just add her a little later. o3o

And before anyone asks... NO, Alicorn Twilight is not featured in this because she WILL NOT ascend in this story. Maybe she will once the story's finished, but for now, it's a no. This is only because Requiem was made before season 3.

So yeah.

As for the image itself, this is more or less an experimentation with a different look for the princesses to make them stand out a little more from ponies, since, in my headcanon, alicorns are an all-around different breed of pony.

So, this is one of the ways I see them, and most likely how they're gonna appear in Requiem. Luna's only a few inches shorter than Celestia now because she's in her final stages of her "ascension", so she has catline/batlike qualities to her. I've always loved the idea of her having more bat/dragon like wings so I went ahead and threw that in, and I tried to make her look a tad different from Celestia in terms of body build. She's leaner and has a slimmer build than Celestia, maybe a tad bit feline. And her tail is long here just because I wanted to see what it looked like. I like it, actually. o3o

Celestia, on the other hand... I see her with a little more bulk to her. Not too much, but she isn't as slim as Luna. Maybe... mmm... athletic? Anyway, she's still taller and has a longer horn, mostly because she has more raw power than Luna has. But Luna has greater control over her magic, and blah blah blah. I won't get into that unless someone specifically asks me about my headcanon on that. >.>

So yeah. Their "dress" or the stuff they wear differ too, in where Luna's is suppose to look a little more battle oriented, while Celestia's is a little more decorative. Either way, they both wear them as additional signs of their authority.

Chrysalis... I had fun with experimenting on her appearance. I wanted her to look a little more pony than the average changeling, but not entirely so either. She's very skinny and built unlike an actual pony, leaning only slightly to what an alicorn looks like. Her wings, I tried making them look sort of like a cross between insect wings and dragon wings. And since a few people have actually asked me about it, I'm gonna go ahead and tell ya. Chrysalis, in my headcanon, is NOT a sort of insectoid pony. She's actually more closely related to reptiles. This includes her wings; they are NOT actually insect wings. They are bat/dragon-like wings that only look like insect wings. The membrane of the pair of inner wings are translucent and feel a bit like velvet, while the membrane of the outer pair of wings are not translucent and are more akin to leather in texture.

And, I finally added Cadence! She's still isn't an alicorn in my headcanon, but I did add her because she's royalty as well, and she has a pair of wings. :3 As I've said several times before, she isn't immortal, though I'm slowly considering whether or not she has a slightly longer lifespan than the average pony since she has twice the magic (unicorn and pegasus magic, with just a tiny tiny bit of earth pony magic because she's related to the Alicorn Sisters).

I think I'm gonna leave it there for tonight, at least for now, because it's almost 2 am and I'm tired. As always, if you have any questions fire away. c: And, uh, I hope you enjoy my messy doodle. <:3
