I know exactly the one you're talking about.

I actually like reading newspaper comics. Sometimes they're just mildly amusing, or occasionally flat-out bad, but I think they have their moments.Ā Of course, the comics might be different where I live, as opposed to where you live.

I always read them when I get the chance, and I also noticed the broad spectrum of quality. There are good ones, like Get Fuzzy and Pearls Before Swine, and on the other side, you've got Luann and Grand Avenue. Of course, that's just what they have in the local paper, here.

Yeah, I like Pearls Before Swine too. I remember reading Get Fuzzy in the past. It had it's moments. I've seen Luann comics a while back. I actually thought it had it's moments (granted, perhaps it was mostly the Sunday Ones. I don't remember seeing a lot of weekday ones, but I do recall one that wasn't funny at all...) Do you get any old classics, like Garfield and Peanuts?

My town's paper has Peanuts, and the nearest city's has Garfield.
My dad has a game where he will read the last panel of Luann and see if he can guess what happens in the others.

You're right. She's like me, where she's asked for the comics pages so much, her family just give it to her naturally.

They're for the 12 people who still read them, and the millions of pets who use them as toilets.

My dad and I have this thing, where we just read the last panel, and can get the rest of the joke.

Ha ha, I'm sure. My then 8 year old cousin once called me a "monster" because I wouldn't let him and a friend play kickball in the house.

I can relate. I look forward to them, then I'm surprised by how bad they are.

Well, I don't think they're bad. It's just not a strong pay-off after you read them. Just the punch line and... that's it.

Pearls before Swine and Dilbert are good. I'm not too keen on the sappier, family-themed ones.

I like Luann, Garfield, Baldo, some of Sally Forth, some of Dilbert, and some few little others.

I empathize with Zoe sometimes these days, but in the 90's the funnies were always good. Those expressions are always good Derek.

I think part of the problem is that it's hard to keep things fresh for decades. Dilbert, and a few others I read were fairly new back then.
Thanks. Expressions like that are always something I aim for.

I'm like that with some comics but one strip is good which is much similar to Daria except more cheerful, it is abouth a woman dressed in goth and he has a best friend who has cyan hair.
Zoe's dad looks a bit Italian or French but I think he should be called Frank. Yet he looks a bit like Mush with yellow, black hair and Mush sometimes wears glasses.

Is this Daria-like comic a newspaper comic?
He does, doesn't he? And, I like that name idea, "Frank Gruber." He probably has a lot in common with Mush.

it is but less angst
Or a car salesman or a teacher. Mush in your point of view is funny but he is actually serious.

It fit for Daria, but you can have too much of that.
Or a banker or any number of generic, mundane jobs. Mush is a bookish, hard working, and strait-laced, but can also find himself in funny situations.

they are also young adults, not teens.
I imagine the dad is not like Zoe at all, I mean the personality, I imagine he would be like Bob from Bob's Burgers, he is too serious and cynical. Mush does what others won't do like skiing while on the laptop, I'm surprised there is no YouTube videos of it, yet but also uses the laptop while shitting.

You imagined right. He's pretty mature, and not the type to take to nonsense or mischief. Unfortunate for any parent of Zoe. He also mostly wants some peace and quiet to concentrate on bills and chores.
I think it might have to do with laptops being expensive.

I imagine him to be Mr No Fun and have lame holidays (vacations), Nicole like most teenage daughters would find a dad like that embarrassing and uncool. I imagine Vivian to be more upbeat but not like Zoe, Nicole to like any other teenage girl, either girly or punkish.
yet they could use an old laptop but they could be valuable. My dad won't anyone did this with the eldest laptop, it is even Max's older sibling since Toshiba Satellite Pro.

He probably has a fairly dry idea of fun. Possibly an incredibly boring hobby. Nicole prefers to distance herself from the family. Vivian wants to maintain peace and order. Also worries about her youngest's weapons enthusiasm.
I'm sure even older ones sell for a pretty penny. I could only see someone wasting a computer like that if they're well to do or the laptop is on it's last leg. There's also laptop batteries being toxic.

maybe walking on the beach, in the rain. He'll get on well with Clive Hooter (the owl character). She sound bad ass with the truanting, I think she could be a goth, emo, scene kid or a punk character, she has black hair like her dad, short hair but long fringe like Zoe and wears red or opposite colour like dark green. Then later, her glasses bills and Zoe may likely to keep damaging her glasses since being rough.
Yet to be compared with newer ones or taken apart. I saw a person trying to do do something with an old laptop. My ICT teacher tld the boys not put laptops on their laps and Dec said his geography teacher said the same thing, it is because they damage sperm but my mum said computers can damage babies.

He even wears his glasses to the beach, and will probably take the time to catch up on current events or balance his checkbook. At which point, even he wife will think he needs to lighten up.
My image of Nicole is a mix of a less intelligent Daria and a not-adventurous Coraline, if that makes sense. Will often tease Zoe, and goes out with loser douches.
There are enthusiasts who seek out old technology. They'll even try to use modern programs on hardware several decades old.

sounds like a workaholic. It makes Lance look more cheerful and don't you ever dare talk to him on a bad day.
Mean being easily irritated like Coraline does like with rain and being called 'Caroline', and pessimistic like Daria. Or people on dA? jk.
Or keep it for nostalgic. The game I used to play was original for Win 95 but played on Win 98 and still runs on Win XP (depending on the power?) but obsolete on Win 7.

You could say that. A good drone to have if you're an office supervisor.
She would have Coraline's grumpy, snarky, in-your-business attitude, with Daria's kind of aloof nature.
I miss my old Nintendo 64. I also like the boxxy TV sets of the 80's and 90's that will probably be non-existent within a decade. Flat screens, while cool and space saving, aren't that aesthetically pleasing to me.
