1:54 Well how 'bout that... There IS another evolution after Dugtrio!
Joking aside, that was actually pretty good! I'm surprised I never saw it before now. I know if I did animations, it would be a lot more puppet-looking. You should really do more animated shorts. Also, I think you should hold voice auditions and then you could animate shorts with actual voice acting. I'd even be willing to give voice acting a try, if I can get the proper equipment like a mic and what not...

Wow. That description is just the sort of thing I want to capture in an audience. Reaching their inner child. Thanks a lot.
This was made with a program called Toon Boom Animate Pro over the course of four months. And, it's mostly frame-by-frame, which although looks the best, was a chore.
I have the program, so hopefully, I'll get to make more animated cartoons.

I hope you get around to more as well. It looked very Saturday morning cartoon like. Great little story and flow. Frame by frame, I'm sure that was a chore. Wow.

I have a question.
If the dragon isn't evil, where did the human skull come from 27 seconds into the cartoon?

That's actually something I hadn't thought of. Perhaps he was a fellow adventurer who died of fright after having second thoughts of fighting a dragon. I don't know.

Thanks a lot. Tried for a classic feel.
It's a chore, no doubt, but the pay off is spectacular. Seeing your characters brought to life, it's worth every minute put into it. And, a lot of it was that I insisted on doing it mostly frame-by-frame.
Thanks again.

Hah, well done! Managed to tell a pretty decent story in just two and a half minutes, and was very fun to watch throughout! I liked how animate the characters were as well, it felt like a old cartoon.

That means a lot from a fellow animator. Thanks.
Hopefully, I'll get to animate again sometime.

Thanks a lot. I've always wanted to see these guys move around, and I'm glad I could pull it off. I relied on physical humor because I thought I didn't need a soundtrack. Thanks again.

I loved it to pieces. It reminds me very much of the old style Looney Tunes cartoon. I wish I knew how to favorite it on youtube.

Great, now I'll have to glue it back together.
Thanks. That's the kind of stuff I grew up on. Childhood well spent.

I like to say this, I'm glad you found courage to post your animations.
dA, why no post videos?! This why I put mine on Youtube, I think I should do these links on my animations.
You did a great job with this animation, it reminds me of Looney Tunes. Poor Knight being the wanted guy at the end. But as an animator, there are still flaws but my animations are not perfect too but my tutor wants one of my animations to have a tune up, the one as a portfolio piece.
BTW, if see the dislike, this must be Sir Steve or another knight in this position.

I was actually anticipating putting on here for months, so you can imagine my reaction when it wouldn't let me put it into any category. My guess is that they don't want people treating DA like Youtube, posting blogs and home videos.
Thanks. I watched a lot of that stuff as a kid, and it probably seeped into here. Not Steve's lucky day, that's for sure. I did notice some stray lines. I scrawled out a lot of the drawings as fast as I could.
It must be Mortimer or Gretchen! Oh, well. There's always a few malcontents around.

Yay!
:18 = Those men. Oh, wait!
:21 = Steve's gonna steve.
:31 = I know this was me earlier this month.
1:01 = He could become a welder just using his rage.
1:30 = When dragons are around, it's always good to run like a sissy.
1:58 = Cheap medieval craftsmanship! They don't make 'em like they used to, and it's probably a good thing.
Thanks a bunch. I would love to do one with voices. Especially if it co-stars Edwin. Somehow, I think you'd make a pretty smashing Gretchen. Hopefully, I'll be able to animate again.

I've been told it's the industry standard for 2D after Flash. There's even a free copycat of it online called Pencil.
π: 0 β©: 1
MintyMousyX In reply to EarthVStheDerek [2012-05-19 16:22:10 +0000 UTC]
I know Pencil. It's only useful to make basic animations, not cartoons. And it has still some bugs to Windows version, specially it crashes suddenly when you save your project >.<
