ok i was asked to draw a mad hatter vs the queen of hearts cover and i drew a lot of thumb nails and layouts...and i didnt like any of them...cause they were all "man power" ones and i was like,..thats not fair...women can kick ass to!!so this one is for u chica's out there...yeah, i hear u roaring
this one was a lil tough actually...there are a lot of elements to get in the way and enable u to mess up....and anytime u draw the ground it automatically forces perspective and thats not easy at times. in this case the floor inclined ever so slightly from right to left...only cause this is not a profile shot....but cause they are in wonderland i was able to make up everything else
im happy with the motion and emotion in this one...his body weight on her and her pulling on his neck make it look like they will fall over any second cause his arm cant support all that weight...
i wanted to draw both her legs wrapped around the hatter but i couldnt cause it would block my "favorite" part of this cover...which is the knife in his gut, oh yeah!!! i also like the mike tyson biting the ear off...vicious
i believe its not easy to draw angry woman and sexy at the same time...so i tried extra hard to pull this off...and im kinda happy...dont ask where his shoes are cause i dont know.

This looks so awesome. I have to say when I first saw the Hatter that he looks like the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. I guess that's because his face looks leathery and not like its made of skin how its should be with normal people. But, the Mad Hatter isn't a normal person so him having leathery skin would make a lot of sense.

Either they started off tickling him and took his shoes off, then got pissed when he told them to stop... or they liked his shoes and got pissed when he said they couldn't have them. You know women and shoes... that's my opinion anyway!

I see three possible outcomes:
1. She'll dislocate her (left) shoulder.
2. She'll let go of the axe with her left hand and miss the hatter's head, either chopping of one of his arms or killing her little helper there.
3. She'll stop moving the axe backwards, be handed a bathrobe and walk to a monitor to see if she'll have to do it again or if the take looks legit in reverse.
