Description I'm really glad that I noticed the photo that Deeevilish [link] uploaded a couple of weeks ago; I loved the contrast between dark and light, the focus on the eye and of course the very beautiful face ! ; )

So, this is my attempt to make a pencil portrait of this photo: [link]

As you can see, my version is a bit darker. That's because the reference photo seemed darker when I printed it, but also because I wanted it that way! Hope you like it!

How do you get such amazing texture?

Thanks !
I simply use a couple of blending stumps in different sizes to soften the "sketched" areas, this makes the skin look smooth. They are perfect for smaller parts, but if it's a bigger area I might use just my fingers! To make the skin lighter it's perfect to use a kneaded eraser (it's like a formable and really soft eraser!)
I hope I answered your question

Yea, thanks! I've been doing some drawing and I usually just shade around the major parts, so thanks for the advice. :]

I see, I'm glad I could help
Try these tools, that will make it look more realistic, although it's sometimes more beautiful with just sketched, non smudged lines

awww *.* I'm speechless. Great work, it looks very much like the original photo. I just get so happy when someone draws one of my pics, especially a self portrait, and it's so cute that you named it ''Hamed'' : )
