I've seen this work before, a few years ago while I was surfing the net. It made a great impression on me then. And now I'm so pleased to see it here on dA. It's such beautiful piece of art! I love the technique, the Haldir's expression and Haldir and Tolkien's characters at all. Brilliant work.

As to the latter, yes, of course. It is done on a piece of brownish cardboard, and I used pencil, black ink and some white gouache for the highlights for creating his image.
