My eyelids cannot hold themselves up any longer. Tapping a foot or fingertip seems like such a small feat for those around me, so why can't I make my muscles obey me today? Maybe it was this last night of sleeplessness; tossing and turning and screaming at my thoughts to shut up already, just shut up and let me sleep. They never listen. My legs have been filled with cement, I think, that's why I don't try to stand even when those around me do. Instead, my head falls to the desk, my aching neck thanks me for the break and after waiting for what seems like an eternity, my burning eyes slide shut.
