Thanks Anubis is the Lord of the West,as its the land of the dead-I suppose that makes Ra lord of the east,not too sure about the other directions.a

Actually, Sekhmet and Bastet are the rulers of the east and the west. The others don't have rulers.

Lord of the West is one of his later epithtets as psychopomp,not as frequently used as some others such as He who is upon His hill and he who is over the Secrets.

And, originally, he wasn't the one who actually lead the dead to the afterlife. After being brought on theΒ Mesektet Boat of Re, the dead were lead by Wepwawet, or the opener of the ways.Β
