Actually, Sekhmet and Bastet are the rulers of the east and the west. The others don't have rulers.

Lord of the West is one of his later epithtets as psychopomp,not as frequently used as some others such as He who is upon His hill and he who is over the Secrets.

Yay! Someone who I can have a decent conversation on Ancient Egyptian mythology on!

And, originally, he wasn't the one who actually lead the dead to the afterlife. After being brought on the Mesektet Boat of Re, the dead were lead by Wepwawet, or the opener of the ways.

another one of my favourite gods I must try a painting of both these god as they've discovered they actually were wolves..Of course,there is a whole pack of Jackal-headed gods to choose from
