Description
This is my latest personal piece. I did it mostly to show that, yes I can and do paint men very well. I just prefer to draw women. As always, I put WAY TOO much into this piece. The full size is 90 inches tall. Although the detailing is not as intricate, I'm quite proud of my play on the neo-classic forms and grid-structure. The more you look at him and the more you know about art - the more you will see in him. That's my specialty. Enjoy.Related content

This piece is such a wonderful ensemble that I would really encourage you to upload a bigger full view of it! SO many delicious details that I'd like to get my eyes into better.
The whole atmosphere in this image is simply gorgeus - Icarus' pose is grand, and I do love seeing such knowledge of anatomy and the feeling of roughness in his muscles, the bulkiness of his body. The feathers hold such a soft and smooth contrast to his strong male body, and the colours you have chosen work perfectly together. This could be one magnificent poster! Gorgeus work and instant fav!

(I don't know if you've read the original myth, but he was actually a little boy. well I guess that's artistic freedom

There are also plenty of variations of the David, ranging from him as an adolescent to a fully grown and well-muscled man.

This is beautiful! I love all the little details you included, like the wax running down his shoulders. The colors are so warm and bright, it really gives the idea of scorching sunlight. Excellent job!
