The piece looks qute interesting, I like the view on the space, and how the girl melts into it. The expression you gave her is very nice and easily recognizable. Anatomy and proportion wise there's not much errors, two things that caught my attention would be the collarbone that should be a bit lower and nose, that because of shading you've used doesn't seem very appealing.
The smoke that the girl merges with, should be much softer and flowy, it would take away the feel of the whole composition beign cramped and messy.

Overall, it's a very nice piece! Great work~

WOW. I'm amazed by how beautiful this has turned out to look, the blending is really good too! I also like the good use of colours, brushes, and effort in this. I'm not really sure what to say, but I'm impressed. Nice work e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Ohhhh, Galactic Tragity of Universeal Proportions.

Vision, Originally, Technique and Impact are all flawless (Minus the water-marked Text on the bottom-left corner), as it is a lovely image that looks like a space goddess is being erased from existence by some unseen darkness.

It is beautiful, undisbutable, unquestionale, and reckindiseable work.

You have talent so beautiful it's a shame your wasting it on Deviantart and not strutting the talent to artshows and getting noticed.

Just maybe don't use watermarked words in the future. I know it's theaft prevention stuff, but in the grand sceame it just ends up being a blemish on an otherwise beautiful piece.

Thank you so much!
Still, I must admit, the watermark is less about theft prevention and more about exposure. If someone comes across my work elsewhere on the internet, they can easily google the name and be rerouted back to my other work.
As for the art show comment, I'm in an area where the arts are very under-appreciated and often looked down upon. I would have to travel to a completely different state for anything like that, and frankly I don't have the funds. For me, DeviantArt is the go-to way to get my name out, so I wouldn't exactly call it a waste. Still, I understand what you mean, it's just not exactly applicable in my situation. lol
Anyway, I really appreciate all the kind words and the suggestions! It really does mean a lot to me, so I thank you again!!

Woh, this is AMAZING! The brush strokes are brilliant, the women in the picture looks as if she's made of felt, but the backround looks as if it's a professionell painting, I am empressed on how much it feels like I'm in the painting, it's as if I can feel the emotion true the painting (sorry I'm not good at spelling) I am truley amazed, but the painting reminds me of something I saw once on voltron (the reboot) I don't know why, but any way it's AMAZING!! On how beautiful the painting is, I can't tell if it's a actual painting or if it is digital! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="367" title=" (Big Grin)"/> hope this was helpfull, love the work! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="367" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

1) I actually never noticed the felt thing. lol That's interesting now that it's been pointed out to me. .o.
2) I don't remember a similar scene in Voltron. Maybe it's familiar because it's a show mostly set in space?
3)It's digital.

I really appreciate all of your kind words! Thank you so much!!

Before critiquing this artwork, I'd like to say that this is very well drawn and is one of the best drawings I have seen on this website. The background is beautiful and really resemble space/stars in the sky. The fading of the character into the stars is very well done as you can clearly see the emotion in her face. My only concern is that I think that the character's nose is a bit too bulbous for her slender face and body. Very well drawn, bright and beautiful colors, and excellent art technique. Honestly, I can't say anything bad about this piece. Well done, hope this helps.

Yea, I see what you mean about the nose. I'm still struggling with anatomy, so that definitely helps to keep in mind.
Thank you so much for the critique and the kind words! It means a lot to me that you'd take the time to comment on this piece!

I love this. The colors are beautiful together and the technique is beautiful. I can't find anything to critique to be honest. The colors are gorgeously blended yet not to much as the human esc figure is still clear as day. The fading aspect for which it is titled is perfect. I love the galaxy style and how the same color scheme, other than the skin, is used in the human figure. She herself is gorgeous. The hair is perfectly executed and I love the way the face holds such deep expressions of sorrow and longing. The way the eyes hold such emotions makes me want to cry. I love this piece and I hope to see more from this artist soon!

Hello! I'm from and I'm here to critique your artwork.

This piece has drawn my attention to it because of the galaxy theme. I really like the way you made it look like it's glowing while you still kept the depth of the darker parts of space- very well done ^^
The fading effect from the girl towards the nebula looks really good and also fits to the title (obviously, but I like that).
The girl is crying, which kind of makes me wonder why. Like, what inspired you, or is there a story behind this drawing?
The stars are not all the same in size and lightness. This is great because it creates a feeling of depth as the not-so-visible small stars seem to be more far away than the others. One thing you could add would be a slight glow around some of the stars (not all, but it would be nice around a few since this would add more detail). You could also add some comets, this would look really nice and add some more interest to the space-scape.
As for the girl, I think you did a good job here; What I think would've looked nice too is drawing the girl with a "sharper" brush and not with this already crispy/smudged brush. This would make her pop out more, though it would be more difficult to let her fade into the nebula. It would definitely draw the attention to her facial expression rather than the nebula next to her... One last thing about the girl: her right shoulder seems a bit off and doesn't really fit to her proportions. it's not really that obvious but if one looks at it closely, they'll see it.
I really like the color palette you used; the blues and purples fit to each other realy nice. A large art of the drawing is drawn in purple hues. This makes the whole galaxy look quite "warm". For most people, space also means coldness, which you didn't really capture here. I understand that the purple comes from the character, but I you could maybe use a more blueish kind of purple next time. This would also add a sad atmosphere (because the girl is crying... colder tones would compliment this whole theme)

All in all, this is a really impressive drawing and I hope to see some more stuff in my notes from you soon :3
keep up the great work and have a nice day!

From ProjectComment

I think you did a very nice job with this piece. The general idea of the character fading into the starry sky is executed very well and the emotion in her eyes is portrayed very well. I wish there was a bit more of an indication of the story going on here; who is this character and what is happening to her that she is fading like this? Or perhaps I'm looking for too much story-wise and this piece was meant more as an interesting visual/abstraction. Still it's a very impressive piece.

Although I think the eyes are very well done, the mouth is a bit less interesting. It looks rather generic and doesn't really convey much emotion, which would be strange at a point where a character is crying like this. There are small ways you could add the sadness to your mouth as well. Remember that a face works as a whole in conveying emotions, not just the eyes.

The way you drew the stars in the background is really well done. I like how you used contrast to emphasize them more, while only resorting to a small amount of actually dark areas, more relying on the purple and blue areas. The purple hair goes nicely along with this.

It looks like you used a textured brush to paint the fading character; this works very well for the fading half of her. I do wish there were a bit more crisp and hard edges to her more material half, especially around the face I think this would enhance the contrast within the character and emphasize the change more. At the same time (and perhaps somewhat contradictory) I feel like the edge between her collarbones and her neck look a bit too hard, especially since it connects both sides like this. Usually it looks more faded out in the middle, like this: images.reference.com/reference…

This is definitely a very well painted and inspirational piece. I hope you'll find my comment helpful in further improving your skills. Keep up the great work!
