I'm giving this mainly high marks because overall it is a very successful photograph. I have never really seen a photo of a plant or flower like this - most people take them outside in super bright light to be cheery, so I love seeing the contrast between the bright flower and the darkness around it.Looking at your exif data I see your shutter speed is high at 10/1000 and your aperture is a little big (f/5.6). It would appear that the high shutter speed is what knocked out the ambient light, but I would suggest lowering the shutter speed so that you can pick a higher number f-stop, maybe aim for f/8 or a bit higher if you can. That'll let you get more details in the flower which I think would really make this cross the line from cool into stunning e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/sā¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

I'm very glad to see you like the originality of my piece, selizabeth. And yes, I will try to use a slow shutter speed. although, it was very windy and raining yesterday. Slower shutter speed wouldn't have let me capture such detail.

Thank you! I loved making everything but the flower but itself light/colored. It gave a nice "lime light" effect to the flower. Also a nice moral as some may find in this piece. What do you first think when you see this photo?
