The Malfoy x reader Sequel

The news was all over the Slytherin Common Room and the moment you heard it, your little heart seemed to drop with sorrow and you felt only anger for the circumstances that had called it. Some stupid hippogriff had mauled Draco and as usual Harry Potter and his companions were protesting the animal’s innocence. But as much as you were annoyed with them and the creature for acting out, your stomach was twisting in knots over two aspects.

Firstly, how bad was Malfoy hurt? Sometimes Hippogriffs just gave warning scratches if they weren’t being respected enough and other times they grabbed people and shook them about as easily as they did rabbits! The idea of a mauling made your mind race to that second possibility, perhaps someone had egged the animal on and Malfoy had just been the next in line and caught out?

Secondly, which of the beasts had done it? You knew the animals well and had to admit you quite enjoyed Hagrid’s lessons and abilities with the animals, even though it was slightly looked down upon in Slytherin. Of course professor Snape had understood your interest, after-all you had a way with some animals like cats and rats that meant you were often quite clued up on interesting things – plus things like spiders and leeches never bothered you. Your mother had held such an ability, which had meant dealing with hellhounds and the like had been very easy when she was around to tell them to sit. But… at the end of the day the knowledge that the animal was probably going to be put down for it made you nauseous….

When the gang of sobbing girls came into the common room, crowding around Draco with swoons and sighs of pity as he regaled the event that took place; you made it your mission to stay out of the way. Gripping your latest study book you encouraged you cat to come onto your lap and settle down with you so that it wouldn’t get under someone’s feet and you wouldn’t be noticed in the room. They passed by you without a care and then separated out into their dorms. It would be time for supper soon and everyone liked to have at least started some of their studying before they had to eat.

For a half hour you remained studying your book, barely noticing your cat leave to get into trouble chasing the rats or the bell call for supper. You ignored the students as they strolled out of the room on their way; they ignored you too, except one. Gesturing his companions to go on and wait outside so he could check his wounds, Draco Malfoy strolled to where you sat and with a grunt prodded you in the back of the neck, making you leapt out of your skin.

“Are you daft ____, its time for dinner and you’ll get into serious trouble if you don’t come, whether you were studying on not.” He looked down at you with an indignant sneer, the kind he gave to everyone that was a little younger then him but goodness you felt like one of his fan girls again. He remembered your name! He also seemed to care, even if your brain slipped in with the logical ‘it’ll take points from the house’ conclusion. You blushed visibly and tried to come up with an answer but he just rolled his eyes. You noticed the bandages and suddenly became bold.

“I heard what happened… I bet Potter did his usual and wound up the animal so that it would be snappy with the next person who came along. How terrible it was you? Does it hurt much Master Malfoy?” Without thought you spoke as if a commoner to a nobleman and Draco’s own pride and arrogance seeped in for a minute. He was pleased that you immediately pointed out that he was definitely not to blame and how lucky it had been that you’d guessed who’d been with Buckbeak before you.

“You’ve got a knack for making me feel appreciated. But you should not worry about it…. The beast was obviously far too wild to be around students. Anyway _____, you’re going to be late and that’s not what I know you to be like.” Malfoy rolled his eyes but he winced suddenly at the pain in his arm. You panicked and stood up, knocking your books closed and then gripping his arm tenderly. Draco seemed to freeze in surprise; gently you stroked the limb and looked at the marks of the wound on the bandage. You could feel the heat from the pain he must be experiencing and you looked up at him, feeling sorry that he’d been hurt.

But the moment you turned your head up to look at your peer, Draco leant forward and gently pressed his lips against yours. You gave a slight squeak of surprise as you face turned red but Draco was merely staring at you a little dreamily. You thought back to that first kiss and continued to blush, only to have Malfoy lean in again. You were not sure what to do… if you delayed going any longer you could both get into trouble, but then you were the kind of person everyone looked at as unlikely to do anything wrong… maybe it would not be so bad. Gently you leant in and once more you kissed, this time though you felt is uninjured hand lift up to stroke your face, then you felt his other hand lift.

You were startled at what he could do despite his injury but he pulled your chin gently forward to he could keep your lips locked together a little while longer. It was such a thrilling sensation that you felt like swooning, especially as he placed his hands gently to your hips and pulled away. You stood trembling in front of him as he looked down at you rather dreamily. You motioned your eyes toward his injury and he dared to blush!

“You must have a touch to rival any nurse…. Uh… we’d better go or they’ll take points from the house and I won’t let Slytherin look like a bunch of idiots!” He growled in annoyance, turning around on his heel and practically storming out of the common room. You remained a little anxious about following, before he stuck his head back in to look at you. “Come on _____.”
