This one is less a custom and more a failed experiment with my customization efforts. I bought a part off Shapeways to replace the gun wielded by Combiner Wars Slingshot (or Quickslinger, for those of you who insist upon listening to the lawyers), and later attempted to paint it black to more closely match the paint on the toy itself. Alas, the part itself was already black, and I think the black paint simply sank into the black plastic.

Ah well. Live and learn.

I recommend getting it as White Processed Versatile Plastic rather than Black Natural Versatile Plastic if you plan on painting it. And if you do paint it, I recommend the Testors Model Master Classic Black Custom Spray Enamel. I also put on a layer of Testors Model Master Semi-Gloss Lacquer Overcoat for good measure.
