It's funny that annoys you, because this picture is actually incorrect if you're judging an artwork solely by the correctness of the cheek scar. It's a beautiful piece, but this work is based on a photo from "At World's End". Β It was a promotional shot from that movie. Jack did not have the cross cheek scar in "At World's End". Β

I hope you're not annoyed now with the above artwork because of the fact that it's inaccurate in terms of the cheek scar, which, technically, shouldn't be in this artwork, as it doesn't actually appear on Jack's cheek in the movie that this particular work is based on.
It's really a wonderful piece, but if you're going to judge art based on accuracy rather than artistic merit & interpretation, I suppose the cheek scar on this should annoy you, since it shouldn't be on this particular work based on the fact that it's from "At World's End" and not "On Stranger Tides", where that cheek scar first appeared.
Not sure what other works on here do or don't have the scar, but chances are that a lot of them are depictions from one of the first three movies. There are literally tons of artwork on here from the original trilogy. Either way, this is a really gorgeous work. One of my favorite pics of him for sure. π

I didn't say that you did--I know you like it. Me too. I just pointed out that you said you were annoyed that "many people forget to draw it [the "x" scar]". I take that to mean you're annoyed with other Jack artworks that "forget" the "x" because you feel that the "x" is supposed to be there, no matter what, when in fact, as I pointed out previously, the "x" was non-existent til the 4th movie.
You seem to be a stickler for accuracy, so I was merely curious as to whether or not, based on your reasoning that it's annoying that "so many" forget the "x" scar when it should be there, if you were equally annoyed when an "x" is included in an artwork where it doesn't belong--like this one. It's clearly based on a photo from a movie in which Jack didn't have the "x" yet.
It doesn't matter to me either way--I don't care if it's technically accurate or not, Β because art is interpretive & I love this--but it seems like accuracy is important to you based on your comment. I just wasn't sure if you realized that this artwork--even though you like the fact that there's an "x" on Jack's cheek--was based on a promotional poster in which there was no "x" and if that was annoying.Β
