Miyu Inari is a social worker employed at a women's shelter in Musutafu, Japan. Over the course of her schooling and career, Miyu has become bitter over the treatment of the people she wants to help. It enrages her that, most times, the abuse seems to come from people in power. She thought the world had become better since she was in the system. The actions of cops and heroes alike disgust her.

Underaged girls being asked what they were wearing. Kids with scars sent back to abusive homes. You beat your wife? Five years. You smoked weed? Twenty five. And they have the gall to call themselves heroes and anyone who disobeys a villain. It's not 'Good' vs 'Evil', it's 'Peace' vs. 'Evil' and woe to those who rock the boat. Don't question the system. Just trust the higher-ups. Just do what you're told.

Appearance

  Miyu is an average adult woman. She's mixed Native American and Japanese with a medium skin tone, brown eyes, and brown hair. She has a heart-shaped face and a welcoming smile that always makes the people she helps feel safe (along with a set of charming dimples!). She prefers to wear her hair in a fishtail braid that makes the gradient to pink in her hair stand out. She has pink diamond birthmarks on the palms of each hand.

She dresses like a professional, even when she's helping in the kitchen or laundry of the shelter. She likes to make the people there feel more like clients and less like charity.

As a vigilante, Miyu wears her hair in a more practical crown braid she can hide under her neck warmer/hood. This is useful because any pink parts of her will glow when her quirk is in use, making it easier for her targets could identify her. She wears dark colors to better blend in with the darkness and baggy clothing to hide her body type. A dark blue surgical mask hides her face. As she doesn't have the funding of the heroes or the will to steal like the villains, her gear is limited to a pair of knee pads with steel plates. She relies on kicking when fighting because, ideally, her hands will have constant contact with a target.

Quirk:Empathy Router:
• Miyu's quirk allows her to take physical/emotional sensations from another person, hold them inside herself, and pass them on to others. It functions similarly to a connection between two computers through a router, thus the name.

An example: a person is beaten. Miyu takes the experience from them and experiences their pain. She does not gain the wounds, however, and the original person doesn't re-experience what they went through. Miyu then experiences the pain once again to pass on the physical pain, corresponding emotions, and sometimes including specific thoughts ("why is he doing this to me?!", "Please, God", "I'm going to die, aren't I?" etc) belonging to the original person to her target. The original person still has the knowledge of what happened, but only as a fact with no emotions tied to it.

Miyu must be touching the other person with both of the diamond marks on her hands for the full duration of the transfer. This is the same no matter which side of the transfer she's on. If she fails taking a memory away, it rips away from her mind and leaves her with a headache. If she fails giving a memory, it slams back into her and knocks her breath away. This necessitates that she bind or otherwise incapacitates targets while still leaving them conscious. As she has no fighting ability to speak of, this is a significant challenge for her.

Lastly, a symptom of her Quirk is a sort of reverse-compassion fatigue . While other professionals in her line of work can take a step back from their clients to protect themselves mentally and can use coping methods like gallow's humor , Miyu cannot. She deeply feels the pain of the people she cares for even when not in the literal sense. This causes a lot of mental issues for her, including night terrors and anxiety, and is probably the reason for her vigilantism. Only time will tell what willingly experiencing traumatic events over and over again will do to her.

She only goes to the effort with the most vile abusers as the results could be called torturous- for both parties.

Miyu frequently gives her charges referrals to Houtan Reform School in an effort to get their lives back on track. Sometimes she goes there herself to discuss things with the principal and counsellors.
