A Greater Tallygune prepares to take off. It's a very large carnivorous flying animal that is endemic to the polar regions, although it sometimes strays into more temperate lands.

The tally's an original critter that's undergone a bunch of design changes. I'm sure it used to have four wings at some point, and it looked more like an Eastern dragon before I settled on this particular image. Some of my initial ideas for it came from species like the polar bear, albatross and leopard seal. And of course, the really big pterosaurs like the azhdarchids (sp.?) served as a major inspiration with their weird quadrupedal stances.
