Nice color and reflection. You being in the shadows here I can imagine it was still pretty cold.

there was still 3-5 feet of snow up there - and hard snow at that - we're gonna have a short spring and lots of water

thanks, but i think our fall might not be good this year - color wise (?) when we have a wet season the aspen suffer from a fungus that forces the trees to drop their leaves early - or something on that line - time to google (?)
New England is gonna be the place this fall - complete opposite from us - wet season - great colors......and they are having a very wet season so far.

thanks for the info, very helpful (as before, you taught me how to recognize a male/female bison)

thats a bit bad news for me as i was counting on Colorado and Fall,
i'm more like a "west" guy, so i'll have to think about going East (which is nice but on my trip to up state NY i saw a town or a burger place every ~20 miles... not my cup of wilderness).

yeah the east coast can be kinda crowded
but northern vermont - new hampshire and maine are very sparse with stunning scenery.
do some research or a google search on the fungis on the aspen and falls colors before you make any plans ? i was told this by a person that works for the big thompson watershed and never read it, but one thing i do know from growing up in new england is that if they have a drought year - falls colors are lousy. and they are not in a drought year - record snowfall this past winter.
if you plan to come out west (colorado) let me know and maybe we can get together for a few days - cause if we do have a nice fall i'm gonna try to hit kebler pass over by crested butte colo (home to the states largest aspen grove) and monach pass over by salida colo, but seeing how i'm here - i'll be making my plans at the very last minute - and get be there for peak time - i'm not gonna make plans months in advance only to have the time off and a frost come thru and turns all the leaves brown - that won't make for a fun long week-end
keep in touch
eddie
