I need to figure a justifiable and realistic backstory for them for more depth. (to distract from the cleavages and ballistically equipped topsides lol).Β
Jokes asides, these things takes time to orchestrate to become a storytelling artwork rather than the usual character fanart -which are already aplenty in the realm of the internetz.Β

Well i remember they took time to create a storytelling in the game so yeah when i see the quality of your work, you have to think about the story behind your creation.
You're right, don't draw just to draw..add the story and also make it realistic even if its fantasy there's a backstory in Soul Calibur and if you want to make it right, you gotta respect that.

I do have one particular tutorial that I've been working on for a long time, it's about Stylistic face vs. Realism face
Very useful stuff for those who likes semi-realism manga or comic face and very much applicable for beginners to advance artist.
But don't want to publish it until it's perfect - or just I'm a bit stingy about my secret ninja technique haha

The only issue I hav in mind is that her pose looks like she's been beset and don't know what to do. I mean, she should be more aggressive, that's my opinion.Β

Been a long SC fan I understood what you meant
Since this depiction is sort of ambiguous in timeline, we are used to the youthfully fiesty nimble Taki; her depiction her is more towards her later age (she's 46 in SC V, awesomeright?!) and intended for a more experienced and "in the zone" demeanor, hence leaning towards 'chaotic serenity' than the usual badass epic battle rendition.Β
If you look closely, she actually smirks and enjoying this, and the obscurity created by non-visible eyes should hint a sense of fearless-ness

The BG is an attempt to present a backstory based on my interpretation, perhaps to the point it isn't really SC, a spin-off perhaps, but her own ;DΒ

Awesome environment going on here...I love the tiny details, everything from the birds, the banners in the background, to the reflections in the sword blades. My only critique would be that the color scheme is kind of lacking, and the perspective of the main character's chest seems to be a tiny bit "off" from the direction she's sort of twisted in. Other than that it's a real nice piece; you obviously worked hard
