I got the idea for this artwork when I observed Mercury in the sky yesterday, soon after sunset. Mercury is a forgotten, underestimated planet, but I find it quite interesting.

Mercury is a very hostile world (although better than Venus). It receives an insane amount of solar radiation, it is too hot during daytime and too cold at night, it has no significant atmosphere and no liquid water, being a very dry wasteland. The sky is always dark and the Sun is white, because there is no air. The Sun looks two and a half to three times larger than it looks from Earth.

No native life could exist there, so I think this "castle" was probably built as a base by a civilization from somewhere else (maybe another planetary system) a long time ago.
