Description From Wikipedia:

Silicon (pronounced /ˈsɪlɨkən/ SIL-ə-kən or /ˈsɪlɨkɒn/ SIL-ə-kon, Latin: silicium) is the most common metalloid. It is a chemical element, which has the symbol Si and atomic number 14. A tetravalent metalloid, silicon is less reactive than its chemical analog carbon. As the eighth most common element in the universe by mass, silicon very rarely occurs as the pure free element in nature, but is more widely distributed in dusts, planetoids and planets as various forms of silicon dioxide (silica) or silicates. In Earth's crust, silicon is the second most abundant element after oxygen, making up 25.7% of the crust by mass.

-

Silicones are largely-inert, man-made compounds with a wide variety of forms and uses. Typically heat-resistant, nonstick, and rubber-like, they are commonly used in cookware, medical applications, sealants, adhesives, lubricants, insulation, and breast implants.

Silicones are polymers that include silicon together with carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and sometimes other chemical elements. Some common forms include silicone oil, silicone grease, silicone rubber, and silicone resin.

-

So the next time you say your character or someone else's has big boobs because she has "silicon" in these, make sure you're talking about the polymer and no the element... or the chick would die due "Silicosis"

Silly stamp i always wanted to do xD

ETA: Yes, i know silicone is made from Silicon. But Silicon is a chemical element and Silicone is the polymer and sometimes people writes "silicon" instead "silicone" in some pics when its about implants or such. Hence i created this stamp.

I always thought the element was silicium, not silicon.

Thanks for making an awesome stamp! Not many people know that Silicon is an element and that Silicone is a man-made compound. ^__^
Yay for chemistry and your cool stamp!

I've always wondered abo that. Thanks for making this stamp!
There's a song called 'Silicon World' by Eiffel 65. I've always wondered which one they were referring to.
