Proper and natural lightings have been really well applied in order to grant a special focus to the piece.
I would make sure all flames would be as worked out as the 2nd one of the left. The result would be even more impressive.

fire and water i think are th emost tiem consuing, the day of the shoot was reallynice, there was plenty of cloud cover so the effects show through realy nicely, also the bes thtign about cloud cover is the lack of shadows, that way the lighting from the effects can look ambiant

You should have made the backround look a little more blue with color balence. It would make a good reflection to the fire.

actually the back ground woudlnt be blue, this is where physics come in, the bg is almost 100 feet awaythe light will not go that far and keep its intense blue hue if it DID, then the lighting up front would be even more blue and even more intense

Well, I've had this concept for an intresting story in my head for a while...

trust me our stories are very different

It's based on the edge drawings I've been making.
See, it's like this basically:
Edge leads a group of elementals who live in a bunker in Nevada who are currently at war with psychics, largely controlled by the government. For reasons not yet fully defined, edge has his underlings take Zgamer's friend and mentor, Alexandros and hold him. Zgamer, inexperienced and naive it this point challenges Edge to the cliche' "If I beat you let my friend go thing" Edge, the most powerful of all, believes this to be an easy kill. Zgamer's light blasts are low power, they are for the most part not dodgeable, since light moves at the speed of, well you know. (But if you could time the release of a bullet, you could possibly dodge it, whichβs what I mean by most part.) Also, Zgamer has harnessed a tiny bit of superhuman strength/speed/durability, telekinesis and warping.
The battle goes like:
1. At first it's cat and mouse as Zgamer
warps and around and blasts Edge, annoying him.
2. Zgamer gets the jump on Edge, tries to beat him down with a little fist and foot, but Edge defeats this easily, then sets to toy with him, torturing him by taking advantage of his high durability but low resistance to pain.
3. Using his telekinesis, Zgamer goes for the gold, mentally grabbing Edge's....you know. Edge is brought to his knees, but is livid at how someone so weak could beat him down. With the words "MY FIRE WILL BURN" he unleashes his flamethrower on Zgamer. He only manages to burn Zgamer's dominant arm. Edge sets out to charge up and attack with a phoenix; luckily, Zgamer escapes it to a higher level in the bunker.
4. Zgamer, against time, develops two new energy attacks mid-battle: A light blast that utilizes his whole hand, and a light beam attack.
(At first he only learned how to use two fingers.) Edge flies in with his red aura, which as you said gives him flight. Zgamer attacks with full hand blasts. Edge counters all of them with fireballs. Zgamer tries to use his beam attack but Edge's azure flame cancels it out, Zgamer is figuratively pushed in a corner and expends energy rapidly to keep the blue fire away. In a last ditch effort, Zgamer warps back to the crispy lower level.
5. Zgamer's mentor, Alexandros, used light magic in place of physically attacking with photons. Zgamer charges up for a spell/energy blast hybrid makeshift attack, Edge arrives, knowing that Zgamer has depleted most of his power, readies himself to be finished off Zgamer sadistically, by being overwhelmed by a stream of blue flames. Zgamer has the old mid-battle ephinany and realizes all his life he gave up on the things that are too hard and decides to die fighting. Since spells need words he almost calls it "Kamehameha" but then remembers that he''l get sued and names it after another king with 5 syllables, "Nebuchadnezzar". Alexandros' power his disabled for the most part in captivity but he is able to manage to transfer a little spell energy to Zgamer, while he's charging up, which causes a flux, the photons in the beam are too far apart for the blue fire to stop, so it hits Edge hard and he's defeated.
Aftermath:
Zgamer walks up to Edge's people. They agree that releasing Alexandros is the right thing to do, since Zgamer defeated their leader. He can barely stand. Edge appears, pissed. He wished to continuse the fight but Chaos talks him down and Zgamer gets his injuries healed and for undefined reasons a electical elemental
named Link182 joins them and they leave. Edge, utterly mindblown as how a n00b pwn3d him, vows to fight Zgamer once more to see if Zgamer is actually powerful and not just lucky.
