Description
How I like to imagine some of the more prominent statesmen from the byzantine empire during the late 12th century.
Briefly speaking, from left to right and up to down:
-Constantine Philoxenites: treasury keeper (and king-maker) under the Angelos dynasty
-Theodore Pantechnes: prefect of Constantinople (judge, that is) during the regency of Alexios II Komnenos
-Constantine Tripsychos: imperial advisor of Andronkos I Komnenos
-Manuel Kamytzes: general throughout the period (later rebel against Alexios III Angelos)
-Alexios Branas: general of the mid 12th cent. (later usurper against Isaac II Angelos)
-Theodore Kastamonites: administration overseer (and prime minister) of Isaac II Angelos
-Stephen Hagiochristophorites: (very, very unpopular) finance controller of Andronikos I Komnenos
-Constantine Mesopotamites: chancellor (later archbishop of Thessaloniki) under the Angelos dynasty
