I have seasons 8-9 on DVD. What a waste of money. The series started to decline in its sixth season. The explanation as to what happened to Mulder's sister? A little thin when considering how long they delayed the "revelation". There are very few monster-of-the-week in seasons 8 and 9, just a lot of drama and BAAAWing about Scully's kid. I don't understand television's need to stick a baby in everything.
I agree on seasons 1 and 2 because then only a hint of the supernatural was needed to make it interesting.

yeah, that one about Mulder's sister in WAS very stupid, and ruined the entire series.
one of the grossest ones was the liver fluke man.
i don't know which one was my fave; i liked the ones where they are trapped or isolated.
PS: can you guess which episode in season 1 was remade in Fringe?

That was really the only episode that "dated" the show; set before the Cydonia mesa ("face on Mars") was properly photographed. Maybe I should watch that episode again. It wasn't as boring as the critics said. The face was probably scarier in 1993...

I remember it well; I have it on DVD; purchased legally from the local electronics and nerd equipment shop. Especially well the music, which X-Files were always good at. Host would not have had the same atmosphere without the box guitar riffs and flute that reminded of water spraying from a sewer pipe. Squeeze would not have left me sleepless for a whole weekend if not for those creepy Pizzicato violins. Anyway... Do you suppose things are breeding in the sewers? Maybe not like humans, more the mighty butt serpents? that was the scariest part of that episode.

yuck.
what happened to the guy who coughed one up?
he didn't die.
and.... they could've done a part 2 because the dude was still alive at the end.

People think "the Host" is the Flukeman, when in fact the guy in the shower, who died, as mentioned by Walter Skinner, but the thing he coughed up survived, as seen in the end, hence the episode being named after coughing shower guy. Heh. Must be a tribute to Frankenstein or something. Remember how the Flukeman screamed when he was cut in half by that hatch? Must be how worms scream on the inside when impaled by a fish hook.

*shudder*
but the creep grew his bottom back, and they shoulda madde an episode where they go into the sewer and kill it, like Tooms or Donnie Phaster.

Is that what happened? I just naturally assumed that because nothing else was mentioned of the one Mulder killed that they collected the other half for autopsy or something. Well, despite the fact that radioactive sludge causes devastating effects to living things and the environment, there are no recorded monsters born out of toxic waste. Apart from my building's janitor.
Brr. Nuclear power scares the crap out of me. Luckily it's banned where I live.
Tooms... I wrote a fanfic about him, that was unfortunately lost in the great Blue Screen of Death of 2008. Sigh.
